The Höfner HOF-225-TB is a Vintage Series violin based on a 1755 instrument by Tommaso Balestrieri (c. 1735–1790). Influenced in part by the Cremonese school through makers such as Pietro Guarneri and Camilli, Balestrieri developed a distinctive style and is regarded as one of the notable violin makers of Mantua.
The violin features ebony Parisian-eye pegs and endbutton, a Despiau “A” level French bridge, an ebony tailpiece with E tuner, and a Guarneri-model ebony chinrest. It is fitted with Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Gold strings, including a silver G string and loop-end E string, for a rich and responsive playing experience.
