Core Select Davidov Cello
Inspired by the renowned 1712 Davidov Stradivari cello, this Core Select reproduction captures the character and elegance of the original B-form design. The historic instrument was famously performed and recorded by Jacqueline du Pré and later by Yo-Yo Ma, and takes its name from the celebrated 19th-century Russian cellist Karl Davidov, a contemporary of Tchaikovsky.
Crafted with particular attention to the arching and graduated thicknesses of the plates, the Core Select Davidov produces a brilliant, singing tonal quality with a vibrant and flexible response. Carefully selected, well-aged tonewoods contribute to both its visual beauty and its expressive versatility, making it suitable for a wide range of playing styles.
The cello is equipped with Pirastro Evah Pirazzi Gold strings.
