The Gold Tone MB-850+ is a faithful homage to the banjolins that were hugely popular in the 1920s–1930s mandolin and banjo orchestras and clubs. Known for its cheerful, bell-like tone that floats above the ensemble, the banjolin traditionally carried the melody.
This modern recreation combines vintage design with contemporary craftsmanship. Built with an 11" maple pot assembly fitted with a rolled brass tone ring, the MB-850+ projects with power and clarity. The maple resonator can be easily removed for openback play, offering tonal versatility. A rosewood fingerboard, Zero Glide nut, and 24-bracket construction ensure smooth playability, accurate intonation, and lasting durability.
Whether for traditional folk, Celtic, jazz, or acoustic ensembles, the MB-850+ gives players an authentic vintage sound with modern reliability.
