Franz Sandner FS500A Cello
The Franz Sandner FS500A reflects the craftsmanship and musical tradition of the German workshop founded by Franz Sandner in 1924. Designed for advancing players, this cello delivers a full, robust tonal character with clear, resonant lower registers and a brilliant, expressive upper range.
Patiently aged European tonewoods are carefully carved with precision and expertise, contributing to the instrument’s responsive playing characteristics and rich tonal depth. A tastefully antiqued deep-brown varnish over a golden ground gives the cello a classic “old German” appearance while highlighting the natural beauty of the wood.
The cello is fitted with Parisian-eye ebony pegs, a carbon graphite endpin, a Despiau “B” level French bridge, and a Wittner tailpiece. It is professionally adjusted with Larsen A and D strings and Magnacore G and C strings.
