The Gold Tone OT-800 pays homage to one of the most sought-after banjos of the "classic" era (1890–1930), when Boston School banjo makers set the highest standard for craftsmanship.
At its core lies a pre-WWII-style Tubaphone tone ring—featuring a square-section tube mated to a solid brass rod, encased in a turned brass sleeve—that delivers complex overtones, rich sustain, and authentic vintage tone. The 11" three-ply maple rim is paired with dual coordinator rods for precise action adjustment and topped with a Remo Renaissance head and maple/ebony bridge. A bracket-band design avoids drilling into the rim, enhancing projection and resonance.
The maple neck, with bound ebony fingerboard, showcases engraved vintage-style inlays and a scoop at the pot for dedicated clawhammer players. Finished in vintage brown with a high-gloss sheen, this banjo exudes traditional elegance.
